This film was made by young people from two special schools in Rotherham & Sheffield, with support from the Momentum team and school teachers. The conference theme was inclusion and was organised by Momentum on behalf of the British Council.
A two day student challenge with Creative Media Diploma students from Sheffield. Creative media students from Myers Grove school had two filming days working with the Momentum team to produce this short film for Thales as part of their Digital Region launch in South Yorkshire.
The aim was to work with the students to develop a concept based around a playground and make a film in a very short space of time.
Momentum and Rawmarsh CLC provided Momentum with 12 media students over a two week work experience period. Working for a live client, the group of students were trained as a film crew with the assistance of media professionals and they developed ‘In My Shoes’. The result was a gritty and real account that focuses on what young people growing up in a deprived area do, think and feel.
The success of the film at various award ceremonies in 2010 is a testament to the hard work the entire group put in to what was very touching and personal journey.
Produced in association with Voidcomp this film was produced in February half term in 5 days with a team of 6th form media students from High Storrs School, Sheffield.
A number of advanced planning meetings took place to enable a framework for the film to be developed. It was -5 degrees most of the filming days yet the team still ensured Sheffield looked vibrant.
Made by primary school students over 5 days, the project encompassed over 50 students that were actively involved with our team to explore and develop a professional film making process. The aim was to get the students to explore myths they had researched and then work with older students who they directed to act out the storyboards created.
This appeared to be a impossible filming challenge but the end results are amazing – best of all the students had total ownership of the material they wrote, produced and directed.
This short film was produced by Momentum, Voidcomp and students from Sheffield College in single day. Acting support was given from members of Team Katalyst.
The film was commissioned to launch the 2011 Big Challenge business and enterprise competition.
