On 20th October Momentum was able to present a cheque for £1000 to Kelford & Hilltop schools S-Factor fundraising campaign. What was remarkable is this money was made in just over an hour of buying and selling. Each of the 8 teams had to run a primary and secondary business and compete to make the most money. The good news is every business actually made a profit – though some much more than others.

The money was raised as part of a two day business and enterprise project involving 4 schools:

  • Maltby Academy
  • Aston Academy
  • Kelford Special School
  • Hilltop Special School

Over 40 pupils, teachers and young people from 6 different countries worked together over the two days to learn about:

  • Different cultures
  • Explores issues around disability
  • Financial literacy
  • Communication skills
  • Leadership
  • Teambuilding
  • Making ethical decisions

The list goes on… what was important is what everyone took away with them. The two days were inspiring and a great deal of fun. Can’t wait for next year! Paul.
